Humanities Without Walls Seed Funding

The Humanities Without Walls consortium (HWW), of which CAHI is a member, has released the Request for Proposals for the Fall 2022 Grand Research Challenge. The focus this round is on “Reciprocity and Redistribution,” a rubric meant to “demonstrate that ‘humanities without walls’ is not only a metaphor but also a strategic commitment to imagining and doing academic work more inclusively—with universal access, social equity and racial diversity always front of mind.”

CAHI has been entrusted with some seed money to help develop applications for the November 2022 deadline. If you have an idea that you’d like to develop, please be in touch. If some seed money will assist in convening partners, developing contacts, or other needs incidental to developing an application, we will be accepting applications for seed money until May 1, 2022.

The application deadline for HWW seed funding is May 1, 2022.

Applications should include:

Curriculum vitae from the Principal Investigator (PI)
Description of the project idea
List of partners secured and sought
Proposed research outcome
Budget for use of the seed money

It is best to develop seed-money applications in conversation with Jonathan Elmer or Deborah Cohn.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for seed funding, the PI must be a tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the arts and humanities at IU Bloomington. Research teams should follow all other eligibility requirements outlined by HWW in the RFP.
