Thanks to a generous gift from Emily J. Sano, we are pleased to offer a new faculty enrichment fund for both non-tenure-track and tenure-track faculty in the Core College or College Schools, who have been at IU for at least five years. The fund is meant to provide a meaningful infusion of between $2,000 and $5,000 at a strategic moment in a faculty person’s career. Non-tenure-track applicants may apply for awards of up to $6,000.
Like the CAHI Research Travel Grant, this award supports travel for research or creative projects to be conducted away from the Bloomington campus. Funds awarded to non-tenure-track faculty (only) may be used for conference travel as well as research travel. The award is not intended for teaching purposes. Travel for proposed projects may be stretched over a period of three years.
The application portal for the inaugural Emily J. Sano Career Enhancement Travel Award will open in Spring 2026.
